Nathan Adelson Hospice Foundation has been selected to receive a $284,000 donation from the Robert Thomas Bigelow Medical Foundation, Inc. through its grant program.
This gift will be used to purchase two new medical transport vans, new overbed lighting for patient rooms and new patio furniture for the patient room patios at the hospice’s in-patient Swenson facility.
“We are tremendously grateful to the Robert Thomas Bigelow Medical Foundation for this generous gift. These enhancements will have a profound impact on the daily experiences of our patients and their families while strengthening our mission to deliver dignity, comfort and compassion at every stage of care,” said Caleen Norrod Johnson, Executive Director of the Nathan Adelson Hospice Foundation.
The donation will directly enhance the quality of care and comfort provided to patients and their families. Reliable transport vans ensure safe and timely access to essential medical services, while improved lighting in patient rooms supports both clinical care and a more soothing environment. Refreshed patio furniture creates welcoming outdoor spaces and environments where patients and loved ones can share meaningful moments together.
“Supporting Nathan Adelson Hospice is deeply meaningful to me because of my personal experiences and the vital role it plays in our community. This donation is about more than new vans, lighting, or patio furniture; it’s about ensuring patients and families experience dignity, comfort and peace during some of life’s most difficult moments,” stated Robert T. Bigelow, President, Treasurer and Director of the Robert Thomas Bigelow Medical Foundation, Inc.
In addition to traditional hospice and palliative care, Nathan Adelson Hospice has designated special programs and services for patients and their families to ensure their needs are met during the most vulnerable moments. Medicare, Medicaid and private insurance groups do not cover these programs and services; instead, they are covered by private philanthropy efforts of the Nathan Adelson Hospice Foundation.
