Cure 4 The Kids Foundation has dedicated a new themed patient exam room honoring The Las Vegas Circus Center, whose years of support for C4K families inspired the colorful design.
Visual artist Ricky Watts created the room’s artwork — a vibrant mix of abstract shapes in bold primary and secondary colors that mirrors the murals he painted at The Las Vegas Circus Center.
“I wanted to create something positive and uplifting for the kids,” said Watts. “The design is what I call a visual roller coaster that takes the viewer on a ride. Hopefully, it will help patients take their minds off things and simply take in the color and energy.”
The dedication was attended by Circus Center owners Michelle and Brand Hunt and their staff. For many C4K families, the Circus Center’s annual Circus Day has become a beloved tradition during an incredibly difficult time.
“Some families have told the C4K team they look forward to it even more than Christmas or their own birthdays,” said Michelle Hunt. “Our hope is that this room brings those happy memories into their treatment visits.”
Pediatric cancer and rare disease patients at C4K — Nevada’s only dedicated pediatric treatment center — can spend hours in the clinic multiple times per week. Themed exam rooms offer a moment of unexpected joy during those visits.
