High school young men and their moms will gather September 19 to build 65 beds for children in need — and the community can help outfit them.
Young Men’s Service League (YMSL) Las Vegas will host its annual Ultimate Gift bed build from 8 a.m. to noon at Terra Contracting, in partnership with Sleep in Heavenly Peace, which ensures no child sleeps on the floor by building and delivering beds complete with a new pillow and bedding. The project is supported by a Youth Engagement Grant from 9/11 Day, funded by AmeriCorps, connecting the service effort to the 25th anniversary of September 11.
Want to help? YMSL Las Vegas is collecting new bedding September 14–18. Purchase items from the chapter’s Amazon Wish List or drop off donations at Avison Young, 10845 Griffith Peak Drive, Suite 100, Las Vegas.
“Building these beds means 65 local children will have a place of their own to rest, dream and feel at home,” said Suzette Miranda, YMSL Las Vegas President. “As we mark the 25th anniversary of 9/11, this project gives our young men an opportunity to honor the day through action.”
