As the new school year approaches, United Way of Southern Nevada (UWSN) and the Nevada Department of Education are making preschool free for nearly 1,600 Southern Nevada families through $13.3 million in scholarships via the Nevada Ready! State Pre-K program.
Nearly 50 preschool centers across the valley will participate, helping eligible families enroll their children at no cost. All participating centers meet quality standards established by the Nevada Department of Education.
“Access to quality early education creates opportunities that extend far beyond the classroom,” said Samuel Rudd, UWSN President & CEO. “It lays the foundation for lifelong success, empowering children to reach their potential and helping families achieve greater stability.”
Families can check eligibility and find the 47 participating centers near them at uwsn.org/earlyeducation.
