A nearly 50-year-old local nonprofit has a new name and logo, but its mission and the people behind the organization remain the same. The nonprofit formerly known as Assistance League of Las Vegas is now officially Assisting Lives in Las Vegas.
Assisting Lives in Las Vegas will continue to be a 100-percent member volunteer-run organization focused on serving the needs of children and adults in the community.
“Our mission is now in our name,” said Sylvie Courtemarsh, president of Assisting Lives in Las Vegas. “As we have done since 1976, our goal is to make a lasting impact by meeting the essential needs of students and families in our community.”
In addition to the name change, the nonprofit has updated the name of its signature community program that helps clothe thousands of Clark County School District students each year. The program will now be known as Our School Boutique.
