On Friday, April 15, SAHARA Las Vegas hosted an honorary luncheon announcing the property’s partnership with Epicurean Charitable Foundation (ECF).
Created for gifted but often financially underprivileged students seeking careers in the hospitality industry or in the culinary arts, ECF provides students with distinguished mentorship opportunities and scholarships.
Nine ECF students were greeted by SAHARA Las Vegas General Manager Paul Hobson and Meruelo Group Chief Vision and Purpose Officer Alexis Meruelo as well as ECF board members and SAHARA executives before a tour of the new AZILO Ultra Pool.
After touring, executives chatted one-on-one with students to discuss career goals, interests and provide mentorship. The honorary luncheon aimed to establish a connection between ECF students and SAHARA executives.
“Today marks the start of SAHARA’s ongoing support for local education from start to finish,” said Alexis Meruelo, chief vision and purpose officer, Meruelo Group LLC. “We want to focus our efforts on providing support and mentorship for students of all ages, right here in the valley.”
At the luncheon, SAHARA Las Vegas donated a $25,000 check to the non-profit organization in addition to announcing their future internship program for ECF students.
The luncheon launches SAHARA’s mission to support education and hospitality here in Las Vegas. “We are proud to support such an amazing program. These students are the future of our industry and this contribution is an investment for our community,” said Paul Hobson, general manager and vice president, SAHARA Las Vegas.
