WHAT:
What steps should be taken when face to face with a shooter? That question and more will be addressed during the Community Safety Forum: The Active Shooter. The forum is held monthly in partnership with The Mob Museum, the National Museum of Organized Crime and Law Enforcement, and the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD) and sponsored by NV Energy.
In 2014, the FBI reported the United States averaged one active shooter incident every three weeks. Officers from LVMPD’s Multi-Assault Counter Terrorism Action Capability unit will discuss how citizens can protect themselves and their families and ultimately respond during an attack. Also, hear tips from an NV Energy representative about their organization’s life-saving training measures and ways to apply them in an active shooter situation.
