Vegas PBS has appointed Angie Carr as its next General Manager, following approval by the Clark County School District Board of School Trustees on October 8. She begins January 4, 2027.
Carr comes from Nine PBS in St. Louis, where she serves as Vice President and Chief Impact Officer, leading community engagement fundraising, grant strategy, and outreach. During her 11 years there she helped lead “Drawn In,” an Emmy Award-winning multimedia literacy project, and “Teaching in Room 9,” a pandemic-era resource for families and educators that became an ongoing program.
“I believe public media is about giving people an authentic voice and helping communities thrive,” said Carr. “I look forward to collaborating with Superintendent Ebert and her team to expand partnerships in areas such as workforce development and early childhood learning.”
Carr was selected through a nationwide search and recommended by a committee of Vegas PBS staff and Southern Nevada education and broadcasting representatives.
“Angie’s experience bringing education, public media, and community partnerships together makes her a strong choice to lead Vegas PBS,” said CCSD Superintendent Jhone Ebert.
John Turner will remain Interim General Manager through January 3, 2027, supporting Carr’s transition.
