A busy month at The Mob Museum — here’s what’s worth knowing about:
‘Cocaine Quarterback’ — July 15, 7 p.m. | Free with admission
Owen Hanson was a backup QB on USC’s back-to-back national championship teams who eventually built a criminal network earning $1 million a day through drug trafficking, illegal bookmaking, and cartel ties. He served nearly a decade in federal prison, earned his MBA inside, and launched a protein ice cream company upon release. He’ll share his story live, followed by a signing of his book The California Kid. Worth an RSVP.
New on Display: Joe Pesci Animatronic from Casino
The life-size animatronic torso used in the “buried alive” scene from Scorsese’s 1995 film is now on permanent display on the second floor. Grim, fascinating, and very on-brand for this museum.
Beer Tasting Tour — Mondays–Fridays through Aug. 31 | $69
A guided 60-minute tour pairing craft beer with the story of how Prohibition gave organized crime its first big boost. Includes two 6-oz. tastings, one 12-oz. pour, distillery time, and a souvenir pint glass. Members pay $49.
