Downloadable Track and Music Video Will Be Available for the 2026 Holiday Season (Next Christmas!)
Cure 4 The Kids Foundation (C4K), Nevada’s only pediatric cancer and rare disease treatment center, is already getting into the holiday spirit—next year’s holiday spirit. And for good reason: something big, heartfelt, and unmistakably Las Vegas is in the works.
Under the creative direction of C4K’s Digital Marketing and Social Media Director, Mitch Koulouris, recording is underway on a reimagined version of the iconic 1984 holiday single “Do They Know It’s Christmas?” Originally written by Bob Geldof and Midge Ure to support famine relief in Ethiopia, the classic is getting a fresh purpose in 2026—one that hits close to home.
Koulouris’ new adaptation transforms the well-known chorus from “Feed the World” to “Heal the World,” shifting the focus to children battling life-threatening illnesses during the holidays and throughout the year. The project is not just a song—it’s a message of support, hope and healing wrapped in a powerful musical tribute.
“For a passion project like this, it takes months to coordinate and complete all the recordings, mixing and editing as well as shoot and produce the music video, which is why we’ve started this project a full year in advance,” said Koulouris. “It’s been an absolute joy to see how many people heard about this project and immediately wanted to be part of it.”
The project started in September and this month, C4K patients, local musicians and vocalists, along with Kyle Khou, American Idol casting producer and Las Vegas resident, stepped into Electric Shop Recording Studio to lay down the first tracks. Their voices and musical performances will form the emotional foundation and core of the new version.
But the music is only the beginning. In the coming months, additional performers will be added, and a full music video for “Do They Know It’s Christmas?” will be filmed in Las Vegas—showcasing the community rallying behind children in medical crisis. Scheduled for release on November 6, 2026, 100% of the of streaming proceeds from the track at Spotify, Apple Music, and other platforms will go directly to kids battling cancer and rare diseases at Cure 4 The Kids Foundation. C4K provides world-class care to roughly 9,000 patients each year, including those without insurance or the ability to pay through its Charity Care Program.
“Do They Know It’s Christmas” builds on Koulouris’ previous success with the 2023 release of “Happy Xmas (Cancer’s Over)”, a reimagining of the John Lennon classic featuring Backstreet Boys’ Nick Carter and Khou. That effort became part of a 22-track holiday collection benefiting C4K and went on to win multiple awards including an Emmy Award from the Pacific Southwest Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences, Best Music Video at the World Entertainment Awards in 2025, and a Cannes Lion Award.
With this latest musical endeavor, C4K is once again blending creativity, community and compassion—all to help heal the youngest patients who need it most.
