Cox Las Vegas presented $130,000 in Cox Charities Community Investment Grants to 10 Southern Nevada nonprofit organizations. Cox has awarded more than $3.2 million in grants to local nonprofits over the past 18 years.
Green Our Planet, Spread the Word Nevada and Champions for CASA each received a $20,000 grant. Nevada Partnership for Homeless Youth; HopeLink of Southern Nevada; Horses4Heroes; FIRST Nevada; EyeCare4Kids; Herbert A. Derfelt Elementary School and YMCA of Southern Nevada each received a $10,000 grant.
Cox Charities Community Investment Grants are awarded annually to nonprofit organizations with programs that benefit Cox’s Southern Nevada service area. Funds are targeted toward nonprofit programs that focus on STEM in K-12 education, environmental sustainability, and housing and food insecurity.
“Cox Charities grants enable our team members to give back to the neighborhoods and communities we call home,” said Janet Uthman, Cox Las Vegas market vice president. “Made possible completely by voluntary employee contributions, these grants provide vital support to area nonprofits, creating positive change in the lives of local residents.”
