Cure 4 The Kids Foundation is extremely proud to announce it has received a prestigious Cannes Lions Award for its “Happy Xmas” (Cancer’s Over) music video featuring Cure 4 The Kids Foundation patients alongside well-known recording artists, Nick Carter and Kyle Khou.
The official music video is available here.
The award was announced during the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity June 18, 2025 in Cannes, France. The festival is the largest and considered the premier global event for the advertising and creative communications industries and the Cannes Lion Award is often referred to as the “Oscars of advertising”.
C4K’s “Happy Xmas” (Cancer’s Over) music video won the award in the Entertainment Lions for Music “Breakthrough on a Budget” category which celebrates creative musical collaborations and branded music content.
Cure 4 The Kids Foundation’s Director of Digital Marketing and Social Media – and music industry veteran – Mitch Koulouris envisioned and spearheaded the project and produced a 22-track holiday album entitled Christmas 4 The Kids which included a new version of the John Lennon classic “Happy Xmas.” Koulouris produced and arranged the track featuring American Idol Casting Producer Kyle Khou and Backstreet Boys’ Nick Carter on vocals. One hundred (100) percent of the proceeds from streaming and downloading of the ‘Happy Xmas” song go to Cure 4 The Kids Foundation, Nevada’s only pediatric cancer and rare disease treatment center.
“I’m humbled by being recognized by my advertising and marketing industry peers for ‘Happy Xmas (Cancer’s Over)’’” said Koulouris. “Bringing awareness to the mission and work of Cure 4 The Kids Foundation in pediatric cancer and rare diseases through this project has been a wonderful experience. The outpouring of support of this project and campaign throughout the entertainment community in Las Vegas and around the world has been incredible.”
In addition to the digital album and single, Koulouris produced and directed the “Happy Xmas” music video at the state-of-the-art Vū Studios, featuring C4K patients and medical staff, Las Vegas celebrities and supporters. “Happy Xmas (Cancer’s Over)” was recorded at Electric Shop Recording in Las Vegas.
In 2024, “Happy Xmas” also received an EMMY® award in the Musical Composition/Arrangement category from the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences, Pacific Southwest Chapter and in February 2025 won Best Music Video at the World Entertainment Awards.
