The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD) Foundation has launched its annual Holiday Gift & Give campaign to spread holiday cheer and support Southern Nevada families in need. This year, the campaign will enable police officers to deliver 500 Thanksgiving meals to low-income families and provide 400 children a memorable holiday shopping experience with police officers.
The families and children selected live in high-call service areas where LVMPD officers have an ongoing presence, strengthening community bonds.
Now open for donations, a $50 contribution provides a Thanksgiving meal, which LVMPD officers will deliver directly to a family in need, while a $150 contribution sponsors a shopping trip where an LVMPD officer accompanies a child to pick out new clothes and toys. This initiative reflects LVMPD’s commitment to build trust and form positive connections within the community.
“Holiday Gift & Give is about showing underserved families that they are valued and supported by their community and local law enforcement,” said Karen Marben, executive director of the LVMPD Foundation. “Through this campaign, we’re fostering strong relationships by having officers personally deliver holiday meals and share meaningful moments with local children during the shopping experience.”
Community members can support Holiday Gift & Give by donating directly at LVMPD Foundation’s Holiday Gift & Give page. All proceeds fund holiday meals and create memorable shopping experiences between youth and officers, leaving a lasting impact on all involved.
These direct interactions foster a sense of safety, trust, and cooperation, contributing to a safer Southern Nevada as LVMPD officers deepen ties within the communities they serve.
