Family Promise of Las Vegas, Obodo Collective, Project 150 and Shine A Light Foundation each received a $15,000 donation from Cox Charities, the fundraising arm of Cox Las Vegas at the annual Cox Charities Golf Tournament, October 20 at DragonRidge Country Club in Henderson.
The $60,000 combined donation was made possible by the generous support of the event sponsors, including presenting sponsor Findlay Automotive.
For more than 30 years, Family Promise of Las Vegas has worked to help children and their families break the cycle of homelessness and return to sustainable employment and housing. Through a combination of grants, donations, and support of social service agencies, property owners and congregations of all faiths, the nonprofit provides temporary and long-term housing solutions for families in crisis throughout Clark County.
The mission of Odobo Collective is to create pathways to prosperity by addressing food insecurity, housing stability, education, and economic mobility in Las Vegas’ Historic Westside. Odobo Collective operates an urban farm, greengrocer, and family-centered programs that provide access to fresh produce, gardening classes, and resource navigation.
Project 150 provides free support and services to homeless, displaced and disadvantaged high school students so they can remain in school, graduate and build bright futures. The organization also has a scholarship program to assist students with higher education goals.
Shine A Light is dedicated to finding and transforming the lives of homeless individuals in Clark County, including those who live in underground tunnels. The nonprofit partners with organizations and social service agencies to provide continuity in case management and resources to support individuals and help them achieve long-term stability and housing.
