Nearly 1,300 volunteers came together last Friday as United Way of Southern Nevada (UWSN) celebrated its 10th Annual Day of Caring, presented by PNC Bank. For a decade, UWSN has united local nonprofits, schools and partners to provide crucial support to the Southern Nevada community and bring volunteers together to make a lasting impact.
The event kicked off with a celebration at Town Square Park, where volunteers gathered before taking on 50 volunteer projects hosted across the valley.

“As we celebrate the 10th anniversary of Day of Caring, we’re proud of the incredible difference our volunteers and community partners have made across Southern Nevada,” said Samuel Rudd, President & CEO of UWSN. “Every hour volunteered, and every project completed improves the lives of families, children, and individuals throughout our community. We’re grateful to everyone who makes our largest day of service possible.”
“For the past four years, PNC’s team has participated in Day of Caring, demonstrating our deep commitment to the community,” says Denette Suddeth, PNC regional president for Nevada and UWSN board member. “We teamed up with Spread the Word Nevada again in support of early learners enrolled in their Readers in Training program. This year we rolled up our sleeves and completed various hands-on projects in the spacious volunteer room at their new, state-of-the-art headquarters. Day of Caring is one of many ways PNC supports early childhood education in Nevada and across the nation through PNC Grow Up Great®, our signature philanthropic initiative to help prepare children from birth to age 5 for success in school and life.”

“For the past 10 years, Day of Caring has been one of Barclays’ most anticipated events for colleagues in Henderson,” says DeAndre Esteen, Vice-President, Contact Center Site Coordinator for Barclays. “We are proud to continue our volunteer support in 2025, and also show our commitment to make the community a better place to live for all through our sponsorship this year.”
This year’s volunteers worked on an array of projects, including enhancing school gardens, assembling school supply kits for local students, distributing food items to those in need, assisting with care for pets in need of homes and much more. The efforts from this year’s Day of Caring will impact thousands of families, students and individuals across the Southern Nevada community.
The 10th Annual Day of Caring, presented by PNC Bank, was made possible through the generous support of PNC Bank, Barclays, Light & Wonder, Greenberg Traurig, and the NV Energy Foundation.
