Workforce Connections, Southern Nevada’s Local Workforce Development Board, welcomes Movement Fitness owner Derek Parent to the Workforce Connections Board.
In addition to owning Movement Fitness, Parent also leads the Parent Team at USA Mortgage. He is a 25-year veteran mortgage industry professional and entrepreneur who opened the full-service fitness club in 2020. Since opening, Movement Fitness has partnered with the public workforce development system to establish work experience opportunities for young adults ages 16 to 24.
Movement Fitness will be the first business in the nation to host an American Job Center. The new EmployNV Youth Hub will help connect young men and women to career and employment opportunities. Since many members of the fitness club are small business owners looking for workers, the new EmployNV Youth Hub is well positioned to address the talent supply-demand equation.
