While most people are getting the BBQ ready or heading out for a long weekend for Memorial Day, Homeward Bound Cat Adoptions is prioritizing cats—specifically, adult cats looking for good homes. That’s why for three days only, all adoption fees are half-off for adult cats at least one year of age. Starting Friday, May 26 and running through Sunday, May 28, you can adopt an adult cat at half price and make your Memorial Day double the fun! Standard adoption policies apply.

“We know kittens will soon be flooding our adoption center, and kittens sometimes overshadow adult cats, even though adults can be perfect in every way. So, to give them the attention they deserve, we’re putting extra focus on the adult cats in our care this weekend,” said Christi Dineff, Executive Director for Homeward Bound. “Not only that, but the number of people who are asking for help with their cats is increasing, and we want to be available to help them all. In order to do that, we need the community’s support in finding loving homes for these fabulous felines. The more cats who can find great homes, the more cats we can support moving forward.”
Cats of all shapes, ages and personalities will be putting their best paw forward with the goal of finding a new family during the holiday weekend. By reducing adoption fees, it helps cats who need that extra promotion find the homes they deserve while making space for others—a vital component in the lifesaving equation – especially during the busiest time of year for animal shelters and rescue groups.
Adoptions are held in-person at the Homeward Bound adoption center, located at 2675 East Flamingo Road in Las Vegas, from 12 noon until 6pm daily. Adoption fees will be half-off for adult cats Friday, May 26 through Sunday, May 28. Kittens, as they are available, will also be at the adoption center; their adoption fees start at $150. All available cats and kittens can be seen on the Homeward Bound website in advance.
All cats are spayed or neutered, up to date on age-appropriate vaccines, and microchipped. Many cats have also received additional medical care, as needed. These services cost over $300 per cat on average for Homeward Bound to provide.

If you can’t adopt, you can still make a big impact with a one-time or monthly donation. Homeward Bound is a nonprofit organization and relies on the generosity of the community to help cover the cost of care, plan for the future, and grow their lifesaving programs. Every amount makes a difference. Donations may be made online through the Homeward Bound website, or mailed to 2675 East Flamingo Road, Suite 3, Las Vegas, NV 89121.
