Living Grace Homes, a nonprofit organization in Clark County that provides safe haven for young, pregnant, and homeless women between the ages of 14-24 years old, is pleased to announce the receipt of a Maternity Group Housing Grant by the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services.
The grant of $749,997 will provide funding for Living Grace Homes to continue and expand their services which provide for the immediate and future needs of young, women in need.
“We are thrilled to be recipients of this grant and the opportunities it will afford us,” said Kathleen Miller, executive director of Living Grace Homes. “This funding will allow us to expand the work we began 15 years ago with helping young, pregnant and parenting women in Clark County. On behalf of everyone at Living Grace Homes, I would like to extend special thanks to Debra March, mayor of Henderson, Michelle Romero, mayor-elect of Henderson, Jim Gibson, county commissioner District G, Dr. Carrie Buck, state senator, Dr. Donna Miller, former board member and Trish Nash, advisory board member, for their support in receiving this grant. It’s a privilege to partner with our leaders as we continue our mission to support young women in need.”
Living Grace Homes was established in 2007 by a board of directors and led by Miller. The organization, which is considered an indispensable program in Clark County, is composed of multiple phases, each designed to set young women up for future success by offering support in obtaining life and parenting skills, education, employment, and housing.
