Mob Museum Hosts Safety Forum On Distracted Driving and D.U.I.

The Mob Museum, the National Museum of Organized Crime and Law Enforcement, partners with the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD) to host January’s Community Safety Forum, sponsored by NV Energy.

This month’s safety forum discussion will address driving under the influence (DUI) and distracted driving awareness. In addition, an NV Energy spokesperson will discuss how distracted driving impairs electrical reliability.

More than nine people are killed and 1,153 injured nationally each day in crashes involving a distracted driver, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Ten percent of all driving fatalities happen to individuals under the age of 20 and 27 percent of accidents that happen to those in their 20s are caused by distracted driving.
