In celebration of Earth Day, the public is invited to the first annual Nevada Clean Energy Fair on Earth Day, Sunday, April 21, 2024, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., to experience live clean energy technology demonstrations and meet insightful experts in solar, HVAC, electric vehicles and other sustainability efforts.
The 2024 Nevada Clean Energy Fair is FREE and held at Sol-Up Solar headquarters at 4305 Dean Martin Drive, Suite 150, Las Vegas, NV 89103 (Dean Martin Drive South of Flamingo). The event is dog friendly and food trucks will on-site for attendees to purchase lunch.
Additional information about the Clean Energy Fair can be found here, where attendees can RSVP for the FREE event. RSVPs are appreciated but not required. Walk-ins are welcome.
The event is organized by the Nevada Conservation League, Sierra Club Toiyabe Chapter, Nevada Clean Energy Fund, and Citizens’ Climate Lobby and hosted by Sol-Up Solar, Nevada’s full-service clean energy solution and conservation company.
“This is the place to be for anyone curious about clean energy products and the latest innovations,” said Steve Hamile, chief operating officer at Sol-Up Solar. “Together, we are planning an exciting day filled with inspiration and action.”
On-site demonstrations and exhibits include:
- Energy Efficient Tiny House by SPAN
- Tesla Powerwall 3
- Free-Standing Solar Carport by World4Solar
- Energy Efficient Appliances by Blue Star
- Electric Car transformations by the Nevada Electric Vehicle Association
- Ariat Roofing
- Premium Power Optimizers and Inverters by SolarEdge
In addition to vendor booths, attendees will have the opportunity to interact with representatives from the Nevada Governor’s Office of Energy. State Treasurer Zach Conine and Attorney General Aaron Ford will also be at the fair to discuss how to access financing and tax breaks to increase the affordability of these technologies while educating the public on avoiding pitfalls from companies that can target consumers.
During Nevada’s most recent legislative session, Sol-Up Solar encouraged legislators to pass Nevada’s SB 293, a bill that allows the State of Nevada to prosecute deceptive third-party salespeople and companies who mislead consumers about solar energy. Under the new law, which took effect January 2024, every solar installation company must hold a contractor’s license, and anyone providing a solar energy proposal or executing a contract for solar must hold a contractor’s license or be employed by a licensed contractor. State Senators Fabian Doñate, Dallas Harris and Assemblyman Howard Watts supported SB 293 and will attend the Clean Energy Fair.
With the rapid growth in Nevada’s clean energy industry, there are numerous exciting career opportunities. Trade experts from roofing, solar, HVAC, windows and doors, water purification and other industries will be on hand to discuss career options.
