On Friday, Feb. 23, Three Square Food Bank hosted its 2024 Agency Appreciation Breakfast to recognize its agency partners and their crucial role in supporting hunger relief efforts in Southern Nevada.
As Three Square continues its mission to provide wholesome food to hungry people, while passionately pursuing a hunger-free community, it utilizes a vast service network of community partners, including nonprofit and faith-based organizations and schools in the community to manage food distribution.
“As we work closely with our agency partners to distribute food through pantries, meal sites and shelters located across Southern Nevada, we never forget just how vital their role is in reaching and providing direct assistance to hundreds of thousands of food-insecure residents in our communities,” said Beth Martino, President and CEO of Three Square Food Bank. “Thanks to their dedication to helping those who are at risk for experiencing hunger, we’ve been able to distribute upwards of 50 million pounds of food and grocery products in just one year’s time – an impossible feat without the close collaboration with our partners.”
As part of the celebration, Three Square named New Hope Fellowship as Agency Partner of the Year. The award recognizes agency partners who embody Three Square’s culture of compassion, collaboration, innovation, stewardship, transparency and urgency, providing equitable and dignified experiences for their neighbors. New Hope Fellowship is one of Three Square’s rural partners, operating food rescue, The Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP) and home delivery programs in Pahrump, NV. They also serve as a member of Three Square’s Agency Partner Council.
“Pastor Isaiah Hill and I thank Three Square for their continued support and for the honor of being named Agency Partner of the Year for 2023. New Hope Fellowship’s Food Pantry delivers food to seniors and those who have no way to obtain food in Pahrump. We are open to our neighbors on Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. We thank all our volunteers who have helped distribute the food. Without their dedication and hard work, it would be impossible to serve the 450 to 500 families each week. New Hope Fellowship’s goal, along with Three Square Food Bank and numerous other organizations, is to end food insecurity,” said Darlene Miller, Path of Hope Administrator at New Hope Fellowship.
Additional award recipients included Communities in Schools of Nevada for Best in Childhood Nutrition Programs, HopeLink of Southern Nevada for the Golden Heart Award and Emergency Aid of Boulder City for Outstanding Community Partnership.
