Join hundreds of climbers of all abilities and from across the globe on Sunday, February 25, 2024, for Scale The STRAT,the American Lung Association in Nevada’s signature stair climb up all 108 levels of the iconic STRAT Hotel, Casino & Tower in Las Vegas.
Climbers can register for the Las Vegas Fight for Air Climb at scalethestrat.org. Registration is $35 per climber, plus a $200 fundraising minimum.
The 1,455-step stair climb is the Lung Association’s largest fundraiser of the year in Nevada and helps fund the 120 year old nonprofit’s mission to save lives by preventing lung disease and promoting lung health through education, advocacy, and research efforts.
”Many of our climbers have a personal connection to lung disease,” said Shannon Proctor, executive director of the American Lung Association in Nevada. “Scale The STRAT is an event for every type of stair climber, beginner to competitive. Whether you climb for a top time or take it at your own pace, your participation will support those who fight daily for every breath.”
Climbers are scheduled in heats and enter the stairwell individually with a staggered start. Scale The STRAT is a timed event, and official finish line photos will be available online after the climb.
The event will begin with elite stair climbers from around the globe participating in the Towerrunning Tour’s U.S. Championship Climb. Wai Ching Soh of the Malaysia Towerrunning Association won the climb in 2023 with a record time of six minutes and 46 seconds and was also the 2022 winner with a time of six minutes and 57 seconds.
“We can’t wait to welcome stair climbers from all over the world, as well as locals, who look forward to Scale The STRAT each year,” said Stephen Thayer, vice president and general manager of The STRAT Hotel, Casino & Tower. “Scale The STRAT is one of the few events where we open our one-of-kind stairwell to the public, and we are proud to do so for this beloved event and in support of the American Lung Association in Nevada.”
