Nevada Women’s Philanthropy (NWP) has named Becky MacDonald President and Angie Tina Vice President. Both will serve three-year terms.
MacDonald has been an active member of NWP since 2016. She served as Treasurer from 2017-2019 and Vice President from 2019- 2023.
“NWP has been an inspiration to me since the day I joined in 2016,” MacDonald said. “What NWP has achieved over the past 18 years is incredible. I look forward to continuing my service to this dynamic and impactful group of women.”
In addition to being an active member of NWP, MacDonald has dedicated two decades to supporting the nonprofit landscape in Nevada through philanthropy and service.
Under MacDonald’s leadership NWP will enter into its 19th grant cycle which starts with the Sept. 26 announcement that 2024 grant cycle is open with applications due on Nov. 16. Once the applications are in, NWP members meet for the next six months to select two grant finalists from the pool of applicants. The finalists present their ideas to the membership in April and the NWP Impact Grant and NWP Founders Gift Recipients are announced in May. A recipient is determined by popular vote. Each NWP member receives one vote.
The NWP family of Impact Grant recipients includes St. Jude’s Ranch for Children, Bridge Counseling, Three Square, Lutheran Social Services of Nevada, Future Smiles, U.S. Vets Las Vegas, HELP of Southern Nevada, Communities In Schools, Goodwill of Southern Nevada and Nevada Partnership for Homeless Youth among others. NWP Founders Gift recipients include Nevada Goodwill of Southern Nevada, Blind Children’s Foundation, Nathan Adelson Hospice, Future Smiles, Discovery Children’s Museum, Three Square and Shade Tree Shelter.
NWP is a member-driven, pooled-fund, large impact grant-making organization established to address the needs of the greater Las Vegas community.
