First Ever Cycle For Air Ride in Nevada Offers Three Courses To Choose From
Registration is now open at GreatDamRide.org for the inaugural Great Dam Ride on November 4, 2023, a Cycle for Air Event to benefit the American Lung Association in Nevada.
Participants can choose from three courses that begin at Hemenway Park in Boulder City, Nevada: a Metric Century loop, a 40-mile loop, and a family track spanning up to 13 miles.
Registration is $35 per adult rider and $15 for youth 12 and under. Participants must also fundraise a minimum of $150 before the start of the event as this event supports the American Lung Association’s mission of improving lung health and preventing lung disease. Fundraising help is available online.
For those who register prior to September 23, use the code NOREGFEE for free registration. Fundraising minimum still applies.
With the motto “Every Mile Counts,” the first-ever Great Dam Ride invites cycling enthusiasts of all levels to be part of this one-of-a-kind ride that highlights the terrain surrounding the majestic Hoover Dam.
“We are looking forward to our first ever Cycle for Air ride in Nevada,” said Shannon Proctor, executive director of the American Lung Association in Nevada. “Whether you are a competitive cyclist or just love to ride your bike, the Great Dam Ride allows you to get outside in the fresh air and show support for those who struggle with lung disease or in honor of someone lost.”
A continental breakfast will be provided at the start line, and rest stops offering snacks and hydration will be available every 15 miles. Mechanical support will be stationed at rest spots, guaranteeing assistance in case of any bike-related issues. Detailed and convenient maps will guide cyclists throughout the courses, and support vehicles will be present along the way. Medical support will also be readily available to ensure the safety and well-being of all riders.
In addition to the exhilarating ride, participants will be treated to a delicious post-ride meal. The event will culminate with a celebration at the finish line, where cyclists can rejoice in their fundraising efforts toward lung health. Live music, food, and various festivities will create a vibrant atmosphere for all to enjoy.
