On Dec. 15, Western Elite dropped off more than 1,200 toys to Cure 4 The Kids Foundation via storage container dressed up like a Christmas present.
The toy donations came from Western Elite’s first “Christmas Express Toy Drive” which comprised of new, donated toys from the community.
Western Elite, one of southern Nevada’s largest waste haulers and recyclers, hosts a popular, free “Christmas Express” event in December every year that thousands of southern Nevadans attend.
This year, the Western Elite team was blown away with the community’s support as they launched the toy drive. It was inspired by Western Elite General Manager Jeff Stone’s daughter, Britney, who was a former patient at Cure 4 The Kids Foundation and was recently cleared of cancer. She had experienced firsthand the incredible care that Cure 4 The Kids provides pediatric patients, and how much a small toy can lift a child’s spirits while going through treatments.
Britney helped to deliver the toys with the Western Elite team to children facing cancer and other catastrophic medical conditions at Cure 4 The Kids Foundation. Additionally, the Western Elite team dropped off $1,000 in gift cards.
