Vegas PBS is proud to announce the station has been nominated for six 2021 Pacific Southwest Emmy Awards.
These nominations highlight the exceptional local productions Vegas PBS has continued to create throughout a challenging year, bringing a valuable sense of place to Southern Nevadans. Award winners will be announced at a ceremony in June.
From The Showgirl: A Las Vegas Icon, the award-winning documentary delving into the iconic Las Vegas entertainers, to Vegas PBS STEAM Camp, the educational children’s program bringing a STEAM-focused summer camp to children’s living rooms, these nominated programs celebrate and explore the unique identity of Las Vegas and serve residents of the region.
Despite COVID-19 challenges, Vegas PBS was able to provide important local information through its productions. #VegasStrong: Connecting During COVID-19 looked into the challenges survivors of the October 1 tragedy faced during lockdowns and provided information on available services.
The VEGAS PBS KIDS Writers Contest Presented by Janice Allen celebrated young writers who submitted stories and illustrations to the station, providing a broadcasted ceremony in place of the usual in-person event.
