Now until September 7, HomeAid Southern Nevada (HASN) is accepting donations of clothing and other personal items ahead of its Fall Pop-Up Shop on Saturday, September 14 in partnership with CARE Complex. The event will be held in the heart of the Corridor of Hope at 200 Foremaster Lane to benefit the homeless community.
Donations can be dropped off at the Southern Nevada Home Builders Association (SNHBA) and HASN office at 4175 S. Riley Street, Suite 100, Las Vegas, NV 89147.
“This pop-up shop aims to supply homeless individuals with basic necessities, allowing them to feel more comfortable in their daily life. That encouragement, along with the many services that CARE Complex provides, will hopefully lead them down the path to obtaining self-reliance.” said Nat Hodgson, Chief Executive Officer of SNHBA.
The event will provide hundreds of homeless individuals with the chance to “shop” for donated clothing sourced from the local community. In addition, those served can take a shower, get a haircut, and receive backpacks that include items such as shampoo, body wash, lotion and sunscreen packets. In 2018, thousands of clothing items and 800 backpacks containing basic necessities were donated to people in need.
HASN, with the support of SNHBA, leads various community outreach efforts that serve homeless men, women and children in our communities. Recently, the organization worked with local builders to renovate living facilities at women’s shelter Living Grace Homes.
