Shadow Montalto, a manager for Palm Mortuaries and Cemeteries, was recognized with the Community Kindness Award recently at this year’s annual Extraordinary Breakfast for Candlelighters of Southern Nevada.
Candlelighters Childhood Cancer Foundation of Nevada supports families dealing with this disease’s navigation. It provides emotional support, quality of life programs, and financial assistance for children and their families affected by childhood cancer. The annual Extraordinary Breakfast connects business and community leaders, allowing them to network with like-minded professionals as they dive deeper into the impact that Candlelighters has on the community.
“I want to leave everyone with this question – what more can we do to help? What else can we do to ensure that every child receives the care they need, the funding they need, the support and resources that they need, so that they and their families can focus on fighting this battle?,” said Montalto as he accepted the recent award.
Montalto has supported this organization personally and has pioneered Palm’s partnership with Candlelighters over the last 10 years. He was connected with this foundation through a family friend, who helped him forge the initial partnership.
“Shadow is a kind-hearted and genuine individual, and he demonstrates what our profession feels and the passion that we have in serving our community,” said Palm Mortuaries and Cemeteries President Celena DiLullo. “The dedication he has shown to the children of Candlelighters is more than commendable. We are proud of his work and honored by this recognition.
