Spread the Word Nevada was in desperate need to replace its box truck primarily used to deliver books to 62 at-risk elementary schools in Clark County.
Generous donations totaling $100,000 from the Bennett Family Foundation, Southwest Gas, and Findlay Automotive Group allowed the 20-year-old children’s literacy nonprofit to purchase a truck to continue its daily deliveries.
The organization’s previous truck completed regular routes around the valley, delivering an estimated 3,850,000 books over seven years. Frequent and costly repairs required replacing the truck to keep the pages turning for over 60,000 at-risk children in Nevada.
