Clark County Commissioners Jim Gibson and Tick Segerblom, the Nevada Department of Employment, Training and Rehabilitation, and Workforce Connections, Southern Nevada’s Local Workforce Development Board, are hosting a spring job fair, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., on Friday, April 3, at the Clark County Government Center, 500 S. Grand Central Pkwy.
“We want to welcome employers and job seekers alike to participate in our spring job fair,” said Commissioner Gibson. “It’s exciting to see how popular our job fairs have become with local companies and people looking for new jobs and career changes, and we are grateful to all our partners for helping to make these events worthwhile and successful for our community.”
Job seekers and local businesses or agencies looking to hire new employees are encouraged to pre-register online for the job fair through Workforce Connections at www.nvcareercenter.org/springjobfair2020. The job fair is free. Registration is not required but is helpful to organizers. Interested attendees can also call (702) 636-2346 or e-mail cpolke@snvwc.org for information.
More than 75 employers are expected to participate in the spring job fair including retailers, hotels and casinos, security companies, health care providers, area police fire departments and local government agencies. Job seekers are encouraged to dress for success and to bring at least 30 copies of their current resumes to give to employers participating in the fair.
“We are returning to the Clark County Government Center to host the spring job fair because it proved to be a very successful location last fall,” said Commissioner Segerblom. “We had hundreds of attendees and couldn’t be happier with the results. Many people received job offers following the event, while some were interviewed on the spot and hired.”
“This historically, successful event exemplifies what can be accomplished when parties work collaboratively in providing vital services to our community. Employers and job seekers can convene in one place and have their employment needs met through community partners and other varied resources benefitting job seekers, employers and the community alike,” said Dr. Tiffany Tyler-Garner, director of the Nevada Department Employment Training and Rehabilitation.
“These job fairs hosted by the Clark County County Commissioners have been extremely popular with both job seekers and employers because they are a one-stop shop for opportunity,” said Jaime Cruz, Workforce Connections executive director. ”Our One-Stop System connects employers with a ready workforce. Education and training opportunities are made available for those who need them. We convene our system partners on events and initiatives like this because the community benefits when we all work together.”
