DISCOVERY Children’s Museum’s annual signature fundraising event, The Magic of Discovery, will take place on Saturday, Oct. 12 from 6 to 10 p.m. This year the event, themed a Homecoming Celebration, will take place in the dynamic, state-of-the art DISCOVERY Children’s Museum located in Symphony Park.
The Magic of DISCOVERY is held to encourage members of the Las Vegas community to come together and raise critical funding to support the museum’s exhibits and outreach programs. In recognition of the museum’s mission to foster a welcoming, vibrant, and inclusive environment where all are invited to engage in playful and educational experiences that ignite a lifelong love of learning, this year’s event will transform the museum’s traveling exhibit hall into a Homecoming Celebration.
DISCOVERY will honor and celebrate the museum’s inaugural Chairman’s Advisory Council for their outstanding collective contributions to the museum over its 29 year history and ongoing efforts towards the museum’s goal of strengthening education. The evening will recognize the Council’s long-time support of the museum and their commitment to developing programming that encourages STEAM education and an inclusive, interactive experience for children and families from different socio-economic backgrounds.
The Chairman’s Advisory Council includes Chair, Judy Cebulko and Council Members, Dan Anderson, Steve Anderson, Jan Jones Blackhurst, Jeri Crawford, Mark Fine, Gloria Fine, David Goldwater, Robin Greenspun, Steve Hill, John Klai, Judy Kropid, Barbara Molasky, Dedee Nave, Victor Onufrieff, Candy Schneider, Dee Snyder, Mark Tratos and Ric Truesdell.
In 2018, The Magic of DISCOVERY raised more than $300,000, which was essential to strengthening the museum’s innovative educational programs and community outreach efforts.
Individual tickets are available at $350 (Junior Varsity) and $500 (Varsity), in addition to sponsorship and branding opportunities. For more information click here, or contact events@discoverykidslv.org.
