In honor of the holiday season, Smith’s presented a $30,000 donation to Dignity Health-St. Rose Dominican to benefit the St. Rose Dominican Health Foundation Charity Care Program and its Children’s Miracle Network Hospital’s pediatric unit at the Siena campus. This will bring Smith’s 2017 donation total to more than $630,000 to support the pediatric services at the hospital. Since 2011, the grocery chain’s Southern Nevada locations have raised nearly $2.4 million. The contributions are being used to assist families struggling to pay their child’s medical costs after trauma or serious illness.
In addition, “Santa” Phil the Bag, Smith’s mascot, along with Smith’s associates, hand-delivered holiday gifts to the children currently receiving treatment in the Dignity Health-St. Rose Dominican’s pediatric unit.
