Workforce Connections, Southern Nevada’s Local Workforce Development Board, welcomes Betsy Fretwell, Interim Chief Executive Officer for the Las Vegas Global Economic Alliance (LVGEA), to the Workforce Connections (WC) Board.
Fretwell was appointed to a two-year term on the WC Board by the WC Local Elected Officials (LEO) Consortium.
Fretwell has more than 30 years experience in Southern Nevada holding leadership roles in the public and private sectors. She has wide-ranging experiences as a county and city executive, business executive, and small business owner. Fretwell is widely recognized as a business, community, and civic leader and has also served in a variety of leadership roles on nonprofit boards in Southern Nevada and also on State-appointed committees.
The WC Board oversees activities under the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) of 2014. The Board is comprised of a diverse group of people with subject matter expertise in the local labor market and the economic forces impacting Southern Nevada. They work to align resources towards effective workforce development investments that meet the needs of local businesses. Board members represent various areas of the community, including business, labor organizations, educational institutions, community service organizations, and professional associations.
