For the fifth year, Victor Cardenas and husband Joey Cardona will transform their private residence into the ‘Candy Cane House,’ a holiday themed walk-through event in Henderson.
The holiday experience is free to the community, but the couple strongly encourages donations to benefit HopeLink of Southern Nevada (HopeLink) and their mission to prevent homelessness, preserve families and provide hope.
“We are incredibly grateful that Victor and Joey continue to support HopeLink’s work and our clients. Last year, they raised over $4,000 in cash plus various hygiene products for our clients. They are again encouraging visitors to donate gift cards, cash or donate directly through Venmo or Cash App to support our work in the valley. Unfortunately, the need for our services has only gone up in the last five years and the funds raised will go directly to those in our community struggling with rising energy, food or housing costs,” said Aaron Sheets, chief executive officer at HopeLink of Southern Nevada.
The Candy Cane House features over 80 decorated Christmas trees and 60,000 lights throughout the residence. Complimentary treats and hot chocolate will also be served, in addition to numerous photo opportunities.
The event started five years ago and continues to grow, receiving approximately 6,000 guests each weekend – including some as far as Utah and Arizona. Both Cardenas and Cardona want the Candy House and the donations they receive to “help give others second chances and hope.”
The Christmas-themed event will take place at 366 S. Milan St. in Henderson for the next four weeks on:
- Thursday, Dec. 5 – Sunday, Dec. 8 from 6 – 9 p.m.
- Friday, Dec. 13 – Sunday, Dec. 15 from 6 – 9 p.m.
- Thursday, Dec. 19 – Sunday, Dec. 22 from 6 – 9 p.m.
