DISCOVERY Children’s Museum is thrilled to join hundreds of Girl Powered events worldwide this October, aligning with the United Nations’ International Day of the Girl (October 11).
This event is part of a global initiative to build confidence, spark interest in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math), and highlight the importance of female representation in these fields.
Girl Powered, a collaborative effort between the Robotics Education & Competition (REC) Foundation and VEX Robotics, is designed to engage young women, introduce them to STEM opportunities, and foster an inclusive environment where their confidence and creativity can flourish.
DISCOVERY Children’s Museum will host FREE hands-on STEM stations, robotics demonstrations, and presentations by inspiring Women in STEM guest speakers, creating an immersive experience for attendees. Young women will be able to explore their talents, connect with mentors, and take the Girl Powered Pledge, reaffirming their place as future leaders in STEM.
“We’re excited to be part of the Girl Powered movement,” said Melissa Kaiser, CEO of DISCOVERY Children’s Museum. “This initiative is vital for the future of STEM, and we’ve seen firsthand how events like these encourage young women to embrace robotics and science with confidence and passion. We aim to continue making STEM accessible and fun for all.”
