The Henderson Symphony Orchestra (HSO) will conclude its 37th season this Friday June 7 with a celebration of the 200th anniversary of the premiere of Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9 at Lee’s Family Forum.
Beethoven’s 9th Symphony, also known as “Choral,” was the first symphony to incorporate the human voice and text to this music form. Its choral part, called “Ode to Joy” is probably the most famous classical music of all times. It celebrates humankind and calls for a revolution based on joy, kindness, and love.
The HSO is proud to welcome Southern Nevada Musical Arts Society on stage for the performance, which will feature soloists Athena Mertes, Ashley Stone, Michael TK Lam, and DongMin Byeon.
