Assistance League of Las Vegas, an all-member volunteer nonprofit that transforms the lives of children and adults through community programs, has a new president and board of directors for 2024-2025.
Sylvie Courtemarsh will serve as president of the nonprofit starting June 1, 2024, to May 31, 2025. Courtemarsh has been a member of Assistance League for six years. She retired from a 26-year career as a computer programmer.
Every year, the more than 400 members of Assistance League of Las Vegas elect a new Board of Directors to oversee the nonprofit. Duties include operating the award-winning Thrift Shop and the nonprofit’s community programs, such as Operation School Bell®, which provides more than 5,000 local students a year with the new clothing they need to succeed at school.
Together, Assistance League of Las Vegas members volunteer nearly 60,000 hours annually to support the local nonprofit’s philanthropic programs and fundraising efforts.
