Jewish Nevada, Nevada’s Jewish Federation, which serves more than 70,000 Jews throughout Nevada, announced today that Debbie Strimling has been named as the new Women’s Philanthropy Council chair for the organization.
Strimling, a passionate member of Nevada’s Jewish community, will continue to help sustain a vibrant Jewish community throughout the state and assist with fundraising efforts and other duties within the council, serving in this role for the next two years.
Longtime Las Vegas residents, Strimling and husband Robert Strimling, MD opened his medical practice, Strimling Dermatology, Laser and Vein Institute, in 1996. Since then, the couple and their children have been active members of the community for many years.
Prior to becoming chair, Strimling was a member of Jewish Nevada’s Women’s Philanthropy Council since 2006. She has also previously served as the co-chair for numerous Women’s Philanthropy events, including United, Pomegranate, Lion, Outreach, Nomination and Installation.
Jewish Nevada’s Women’s Philanthropy Council raises more than 50 percent of the organization’s total annual campaign funds each year by bringing together like-minded donors to create an impact. Through social, service-based, and philanthropic programs and events, the Women’s Philanthropy Council connects women in the Jewish community to each other and the work of the Federation.
“Debbie has been an invaluable partner to our organization, and we are greatly appreciative for her dedication and involvement to help others throughout our state,” said Jewish Nevada Chief Philanthropy Officer Megan Weintraub. “She will continue to accomplish wonderful work as our new council chair.”
