Multi-media laser projection show at Hoover Dam and other events to raise awareness of lung cancer
As part of the American Lung Association’s national LUNG FORCE Turquoise Takeover to raise awareness of lung cancer, the Hoover Dam will turn turquoise on the night of Tuesday, May 10, 2022, thanks to a mega-sized multi-media laser projection show on the dam’s face.
Turquoise is the signature color of the national LUNG FORCE movement, which unites the nation around better understanding and prevention of lung cancer, the nation’s leading cancer killer.
This marks the first time a laser show of this size will be projected onto the face of the dam, which is 726 feet high. Animated turquoise graphics will tell the story of why awareness of and screening for lung cancer are lifesaving.
Gag Lab, a Las Vegas-based agency specializing in large-scale storytelling and visual production concepts, is designing the experience which will also include a special pathway to the viewing area featuring additional lighting effects and story elements.
Attendance is free to the public, but viewing space is limited.
Attendees are asked to RSVP for the experience at https://bit.ly/TuesdayTurquoiseTakeover. The laser projection show will run every 15 minutes between 8 p.m and 10 p.m., with the last show at 9:45 p.m.
As part of LUNG FORCE’s Turquoise Takeover, Southern Nevadans are encouraged to wear turquoise on Tuesday, May 10.
The LUNG FORCE week will culminate on Saturday, May 14, with the family-friendly 2022 LUNG FORCE Walk at St. Rose Dominican – San Martin Campus, at 8280 W. Warm Springs Rd., Las Vegas, NV 89113. The walk starts at 9 a.m.
