Nevada Donor Network (NDN) hosted its annual Inspire Gala at the Waldorf Astoria on Saturday, Aug. 28 raising more than $450,000 to support its mission to maximize the gift of life and health through organ, eye and tissue donation. Attendees enjoyed a cocktail reception, silent and live auctions, a three-course plated dinner and live entertainment from the ladies of Fantasy and ‘The Voice’ season 12 winner, Chris Blue.
An emotional and heartfelt evening welcomed family members of donor heroes and organ transplant recipients alike alongside community leaders, friends and supporters of NDN. Several community members were honored with awards during the gala including:
- Governor’s Award – Vegas Golden Knights
- Life Award – The Jimmerson Family, in honor of donor hero Jacob Jimmerson
- Strength Award – Massiel Smith
- Hope Award – UMC Transplantation Center
Through the “End the Wait” campaign, Nevada residents would no longer have to seek life-saving care in surrounding states; they would be able to be evaluated, transplanted, and cared for locally while bringing hope to the 593 local Nevadans currently waiting for a lifesaving transplant.
