The Las Vegas-Clark County Library District challenges local residents and businesses across the valley to Take the #GetCarded Challenge!
Southern Nevadans can #GetCarded by signing up for a FREE library card and discover the endless possibilities they never knew the library offered! Additionally, anyone with a valid library card number can enter for a chance to win a coveted #GetCarded T-shirt, available in men’s and women’s styles in a range of sizes.
“September is an important month at the library, with back-to-school support for students in kindergarten through college, live performances, plus adult classes and career guidance in full swing,” said Kelvin Watson, executive director of the Las Vegas-Clark County Library District. “This is why we also spend the month of September reaching out to Southern Nevadans who haven’t yet discovered us and sharing with them how a free library card can literally change your life.”
DISCOVERY Children’s Museum was the first organization to Take the #GetCarded Challenge, signing up all 75 employees in just two weeks.
“We are proud to partner with the Las Vegas-Clark County Library District on their new #GetCarded Challenge campaign,” said Melissa Kaiser, CEO of the DISCOVERY Children’s Museum. “A library card unlocks the joy of learning through free classes, events, technology, arts and culture for all ages. My team and I are already enjoying the many benefits of our new cards.”
All year round – but especially in September – the public is encouraged to sign up for an Instant eCard here and start enjoying the freedom to stream and download eBooks, audiobooks, movies, music, and online resources on LVCCLD.org. If desired, residents can then visit their nearest branch here to upgrade to an All Access card, which adds the option of checking out physical books, DVDs, CDs, WiFi Hotspots, toys, and more from our branches. The Library District offers multiple All Access library card designs, including the official cards of the Vegas Golden Knights and Las Vegas Lights FC.
In addition to books and eBooks, library cardholders can download and stream movies, music, TV shows, and more. They can find a new job with the Nevada Career Explorer, learn a new language with Rosetta Stone, or be the first to know about free DJ classes using professional-grade equipment, weekly storytimes, STEAM workshops, teen activity clubs, and other events that keep kids of any age entertained all year long.
A library card is always free, providing access to millions of items found through the Library District’s branches or on our website. For additional information about how to #GetCarded, visit http://LVCCLD.org/GetCarded.
