LAS VEGAS, NV – November 3, 2020 – Workforce Connections, Southern Nevada’s Local Workforce Development Board, announces Bank of Nevada’s Jerrie E. Merritt as the new board chair and Keolis’ Cecil Fielder as the new vice-chair. They will serve two-year terms in the leadership positions, starting November 1, 2020.
Jerrie E. Merritt, Workforce Connections Board Chair
Jerrie E. Merritt, Division CRA, Community Development Manager for Bank of Nevada, is the new Workforce Connections board chair.
Merritt joined Bank of Nevada in 2004 and has 40 years of banking industry experience.
Merritt is active in the Las Vegas community and currently serves on various community and nonprofit boards while also managing a diverse deposit and loan portfolio.
Merritt has served on the Workforce Connections board since October of 2014, including four years as chair of the finance and budget committee.
Cecil Fielder, Workforce Connections Board Vice Chair
Cecil Fielder, Director of Safety, Training and Security for Keolis Transit America – Las Vegas division, is the new Workforce Connections board vice- chair.
Fielder has an extensive transportation and logistics background, and currently leads a team of more than 700 employees with a discipline in safety management systems.
Fielder has served on the Workforce Connections board since August of 2017, and will remain vice chair of the programs committee.
