On Sunday, February 23, 2020, over 1,000 individuals climbed the STRAT tower in support of the American Lung Association in Nevada.
Climbers included firefighters in full gear, professional stair climbers, individuals and teams. Among the climbers was Travis Strong, an Army veteran who lost both legs during an attack in Baghdad. Travis climbed the STRAT with his arms and completed the climb in 1 hour and 6 minutes. Proving to himself and others that you can do anything you set your mind to.
This years winner was Alex Trujillo, 28 of Mexico City who climbed all 108 floors and 1,455 steps up the iconic STRAT tower in 6 minutes and 46 seconds. Alex has set a new record for this iconic climb.
The STRAT generously donates the use of the tower, as well as staff, in support of this fundraiser. This event helped raise over $290,000 helping the American Lung Association continue to help prevent lung disease and to promote lung health. Donations are still being accepted through March 8th.
