A collaboration between Three Square Food Bank, MGM Resorts International (MGM Resorts) and Nevada Public Radio results in 104,305 meals donated to people in Southern Nevada who are food insecure. According to Feeding America, currently one in eight Nevadans is affected by hunger.
During Nevada Public Radio’s 2019 fall membership campaign, new and renewing members had an option to donate meals to Three Square in lieu of receiving traditional thank you gifts, with MGM Resorts wholly covering the value of the donated meals.
“We were proud to be involved in this year’s Nevada Public Radio fall membership campaign to help combat food insecurity in the Las Vegas community,” said Jyoti Chopra, Chief Diversity and Sustainability Officer, MGM Resorts International. “For more than 20 years MGM Resorts has partnered with nonprofit organizations, providing resources and services to those in need. As we look ahead to the new year, let us continue to join forces through public-private partnerships and extend our reach and impact to serve more people in need in Nevada.”
“Every year, our neighbor organization in Southern Nevada show their true colors with generosity and compassion,” said Brian Burton, President and CEO of Three Square. “MGM Resorts and Nevada Public Radio members opened their hearts to the families that we feed, and we are honored and grateful for their kindness and contribution to the fight against food insecurity in our community.
