More than a dozen current CCSD students and former CCSD students signaled their commitment to enter into the high-paying and in-demand career of construction at the Nevada Contractors Association’s “Construction Signing Day” yesterday.
The event took place at Workforce Connections and is a cooperative effort between the Nevada Contractors Association, the Clark County School District and several other community partners in a new effort to create a pipeline for students to enter into careers in skilled labor.
The students’ future employers and family members were on-hand as they officially signed their intent and donned company swag, just as student athletes do when they commit to a collegiate sports team.
Many of the students will be earning $40,000 a year when they begin their construction career.
