Approximately 1,400 volunteers completed more than 250 projects at 85 local nonprofits and schools on Friday, October 5, 2018 as part of the United Way of Southern Nevada’s third annual Day of Caring.
The powerful community-wide day of volunteerism wrapped up 1 October Remembrance Week. By completing projects at local nonprofits and schools such as painting murals, creating gardens and clearing landscapes, volunteers united to help the community move forward and build resiliency.
An unprecedented $75,500 was spilt among participating nonprofits and schools to increase the impact of the day and help cover the cost of supplies, thanks to Day of Caring sponsors such as Wells Fargo, Las Vegas Review Journal, Caesars Entertainment Corporation, Nevada Volunteers, Chase Bank and Greenspun Media Group.
