Clark County Commissioner Jim Gibson, The One Stop Delivery System and the STOP Coalition are hosting a job fair starting at 9 a.m. on Thursday, May 24, at the Whitney Recreation Center, 5712 Missouri Ave., just west of Boulder Highway.
Employers and job seekers interested in attending the fair are encouraged to register at www.nvcareercenter.org/careerfair. Registration is not a requirement; however, job seekers can call (702) 822-4229 or e-mail cpolke@snvwc.org for additional information.
“A lot of our residents in the neighborhoods surrounding Whitney are looking for new jobs and careers, and we are excited to offer this job fair as an opportunity to connect with a variety of local employers in a central location and in a welcoming atmosphere,” said Commissioner Gibson. “I want to thank The One Stop Delivery System and our other community partners for helping us make this event possible.”
Job seekers are encouraged to dress for success and to bring at least 30 copies of their current resumes to give to employers participating in the fair. The fair will offer job seekers opportunities to interview with representatives from multiple companies. No children are allowed to attend the event.
The goal of The One Stop Delivery System is to connect employers with a ready workforce, and to establish partnerships in the community that connect job seekers to education, training and employment opportunities. Additionally, the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department’s Southeast Area Command’s Safety Through Outreach and Prevention (STOP) Program also is a sponsor of the upcoming career fair.
